Six Year program

Prior to Entry into the 2-Year Professional Program
In concurrent Education programs at the Primary/Junior level, students must meet and complete requirements of the partnering Honours degree program including all Pre-Professional Program Education requirements. (See Concurrent Degree Programs Information for Education requirements)

Note: The Indigenous Content Requirement in the Anthropology programs is met by taking ANTH 1034.

First Year: 
(a) Anthropology 1032 and 1034
(b) One FCE in English,  French or an Indigenous Language
(c) Two and one-half FCEs from: Biology 1110, 1130, Chemistry 1110, 1130, Geography 1120, Geology 1110, 1130, Mathematics 0210, 1151, 1152, Business 1513, Physics 1101
(d) Education 1050

 Second Year: 
(a) Anthropology 2110, 2112, 2137, 2151, 2515, 2517
(b) One half-course in Music or Visual Arts
(c) One FCE elective
(d) Education 2050

Third Year: 
(a) Two FCEs in Anthropology from Type C at a third or fourth year level
(b) One FCE in Anthropology
(c) One and one-half FCE electives
(d) One half-course Education elective (see Electives in the Department of Undergraduate Studies in Education Courses list)
Note: Concurrent Education students should check the timetable for Pre-Professional Program course offerings.

Fourth Year:
(a) Two FCEs in Anthropology at the fourth-year level
(b) One FCE in Anthropology
(c) Two FCE electives (Chemistry 3131 recommended)

Note:
Honours Thesis. Students wishing to do an honours thesis (Anthropology 4901) in the fourth year of the HBA or the HBSc program must have a faculty advisor by March 1 of their third year and, by March 31, must (a) have a topic approved by the advisor, (b) submit a thesis proposal and (c) provide a preliminary bibliography of at least 20 appropriate references in a format approved by the advisor.
