Six Year program

An overall 70% average in subsequent Sociology courses through each of the following years is required upon graduation.

Prior to Entry into the 2-Year Professional Program
In concurrent Education programs at the Primary/Junior level, students must meet and complete requirements of the partnering Honours degree program including all Pre-Professional Program Education requirements. (see Concurrent Degree Programs Information for Education requirements)

First Year :
(a) Sociology 1100
(b) One FCE in English, French, or Indigenous Language
(c) One half-course from Type A courses
(d) One FCE in Science (General Science 1000 recommended) (see Concurrent Education Content Regulations #1, regarding eligible Science courses)
(e) One FCE elective from Type B courses
(f) Education 1050

Second Year:
(a) Sociology 2111 and 2911
(b) One FCE in Sociology
(c) Two and one-half FCE electives
(d) Education 2050

Third Year:
(a) Sociology 3310, 3311, 3410, 3411
(b) One-half FCE elective in Music or Visual Arts
(c) One and one half FCE electives
(d) Sociology 2755 or Sociology 3818
(e) One-half FCE Education elective (see Electives in he Department of Undergraduate Studies in Education Courses list)
Note: Concurrent Education students should check the timetable for Pre-Professional Program course offerings.

Fourth Year:
(a) Sociology 4313
(b) Either Sociology 4411 and one-half FCE in Sociology at the fourth year level, or Sociology 4105
(c) One FCE in Sociology at the third or fourth year level
(d) One-half FCE in Sociology at the fourth year level
(e) Two FCE electives

Fifth and Sixth Years (2-Year Professional Program):
Concurrent Education (Primary/Junior) requirements

Note: The Indigenous Content Requirement is being met by taking either Sociology 2755 or 3818 in the third year of the program.
