Six Year program

Prior to Entry into the 2-Year Professional Program
In concurrent Education programs at the Primary/Junior level, students must meet and complete requirements of the partnering Honours degree program including all Pre-Professional Program Education requirements. (See Concurrent Degree Programs Information for Education requirements)


First Year:
(a) Women's Studies 1100
(b) One FCE in English, French or an Indigenous Language
(c) One FCE in Science (General Science 1000 recommended) (see Concurrent Education Content Regulations #1 regarding eligible Science courses)
(d) One FCE from Type B courses
(e) One half-course elective
(f) Education 1050

Note: The Indigenous Content Requirement is met by taking 0.5 FCE chosen from the list of Type E courses. We encourage you to take either WOME 2119, when offered.

Second Year:
(a) One FCE in Women's Studies Core Courses at the second year level
(b) One FCE in Women's Studies from Group 1 courses
(c) Two and one-half FCE electives
(d) Education 2050

Third Year:
(a) Women's Studies 3030
(b) One and one-half FCEs in Women's Studies Core Courses at the third-year level
(c) One FCE in Women's Studies from Group 1 or Group 2 Courses
(d) One half-course in Music or Visual Arts
(e) One FCE electives
(f) One half-course Education elective (see Electives in the Department of Undergraduate Studies in Education Courses list)
Note: At least one FCE in (b) and (c) must be at the third year level; Concurrent Education students should check the timetable for Pre-Professional Year course offerings.

Fourth Year:
(a) Women's Studies 4010
(b) One half-course in Women's Studies Core Courses at the fourth-year level
(c) One and one-half FCEs in Women's Studies Group 1 courses at the third or fourth year level
(d) One half-course in Women's Studies from Group 1 or Group 2 courses at the third or fourth year level
(d) Two FCE electives
Note: Women's Studies 4901 is restricted to students in the Honours BA program in Women's Studies.
