BA4, BEd (Psychology Major) P/J(TB)

Six Year Non-Direct Entry Program

Honours BA/BSc (Psychology) majors may only enter this program if academically ineligible to continue in or complete the Honours program and with permission of the Chair of the Department of Psychology. An overall 60% average in Psychology courses is required.

Prior to Entry into the 2-Year Professional Program
In concurrent Education programs at the Primary/Junior level, students must meet and complete requirements of the partnering Bachelor degree program including all Pre-Professional Program Education requirements. (See Concurrent Degree Programs Information for Education requirements.) 

Note 1
Courses will be chosen in consultation with the Department (see Department of Psychology, Academic Regulations, Note 2).

Note 2: 
Students are required to take 0.5 FCE from Type E Indigenous Content (see Course Classifications). This may be taken in any year of study and may be taken as an elective or as part of another program requirement.

First Year: 
(a) Psychology 1100
(b) One FCE from English, French or Indigenous Language (see Note 2 above regarding Type E course requirement)
(c) One FCE from Type A (see Course Classifications and Note 2 above regarding Type E course requirement)
(d) One FCE elective in Science (General Science 1000 recommended) (see Concurrent Education Content Regulations #1, regarding eligible Science courses)
(e) One half-course elective in Music or Visual Arts
(f) Education 1050

Second Year: 
(a) Psychology 2101 (see Department of Psychology, Academic Regulations, Note 2)
(b) Psychology 2011 and 2012 or one FCE in Psychology selected from the core groups (see Department of Psychology, Academic Regulations, Notes 1 and 3)
(c) One FCE from Type B  (see Course Classifications)
(d) One and one-half FCE electives, one of which may be in Psychology (see Note 2 above regarding Type E course requirement)
(e) Education 2050

Third Year: 
(a) Two FCEs in Psychology (see Department of Psychology, Academic Regulations, Notes 1 and 3)
(b) Two and one-half FCE electives, one of which may be Psychology (see Note 2 above regarding Type E course requirement)
(c) One half-course Education elective (see Electives in the Department of Undergraduate Studies in Education Courses list)
Note: Concurrent Education students should check the timetable for Pre-Professional Program course offerings.

Fourth Year: 
(a) Four FCEs in Psychology (see Department of Psychology, Academic Regulations, Notes 1 and 3)
(b) One FCE elective, which may be Psychology
