Honours BSc, BEd (Mathematics Major) I/S(TB)

Six Year program

Prior to Entry into the 2-Year Professional Program
In concurrent Education programs at the Intermediate/Senior level, students must meet and complete requirements of the partnering Honours degree program including all Pre-Professional Program Education requirements. (See Concurrent Degree Programs Information for Education requirements.)

Note: Student must choose two teachable subjects. (See Department of Undergraduate Studies in Education, Levels and Teachables.)

Note: In order to meet the Indigenous Content Requirement students must take one-half FCE from Type E courses as part of their first four years.


First Year:
(a) Mathematics 1171, 1172, 1271 and 1272
(b) One FCE in English, French, or an Indigenous language
(c) One and one-half FCEs chosen from: Biology 1110/1130, Chemistry 1110/1130, Computer Science 1411/1431, Geography 1150/1190, Geology 1110/1130, Physics 1211/1212
(d) Education 1050

Second Year:
(a) Mathematics 2111, 2131, 2232, 2234, 2255, 2275
(b) One FCE elective from Type C at the second year level or higher
(c) One-half FCE chosen from: Biology 1110/1130, Chemistry 1110/1130, Computer Science 1411/1431, Geography 1150/1190, Geology 1110/1130, Physics 1211/1212
(d) Education 2050

Third Year:
(a) Mathematics 3231, 3233, 3332, 3334
(b) One FCE in Mathematics at the third or fourth year level
(c) One FCE elective from Type C
(d) One-half FCE elective
(e) One-half FCE Education elective (see Electives in the Department of Undergraduate Studies in Education Courses list)

Fourth Year:
(a) Mathematics 3171, 4151, 4301
(b) One FCE in Mathematics at the third or fourth year level
(c) Two FCE electives
