Master of Health Sciences (Specialization in Gerontology)(TB)

A. MASTER OF HEALTH SCIENCES

All students must successfully complete a total of five (5) full course equivalents (FCEs):
(a) Health Sciences 5015 - Current Issues and Trends in Health Sciences (0.5 FCE)
(b) Health Sciences 5030 - Introduction to Biostatistics (0.5 FCE)
(c) Health Sciences 5035 - Qualitative Inquiry I (0.5 FCE)
(d) Health Sciences 5070 - Epidemiology I (0.5 FCE)
(e) Health Sciences 5901 (9901) (2 FCEs) - Master's Thesis
(f) Two half-courses (1.0 FCE) electives selected in consultation with the supervisor
 
Students are strongly encouraged to consider taking more advanced methodological courses (for example, Health Sciences 5270 - Epidemiology II; Health Sciences 5410 - Survey Methods; Health Sciences 5036 - Qualitative Inquiry II).


B. COLLABORATIVE GRADUATE PROGRAM WITH SPECIALIZATION IN GERONTOLOGY
Students in the Master of Heath Sciences program may apply for acceptance into the Collaborative Program with Specialization in Gerontology. They will take Gerontology 5710 - Research and Theory in Gerontology (half-course equivalent) in place of a Master of Health Sciences elective; they will participate in Gerontology 5790 - Gerontology Research Seminar (non-credit); and they will do a Master's Thesis in the area of gerontology.
