Bachelor of Engineering Co-operative Education/Internship Option

Five Year program

Total enrolment in the Co-operative Education/Internship (Co-op/Internship) Option is limited and the total number of students admitted is based in part on projected employment opportunities. Students interested in pursuing the Co-op/Internship Option must apply (on a Request for Program Change Form) through the Office of Admissions and Recruitment in the fall term of Year 2 or of Year 3. In addition, a Co-op Work Term Application Form (which is available in the Student Placement and Co-op Education Centre) must be completed. Applicants who meet the minimum academic admission requirements following the fall term examination period will be reviewed by the Engineering Co-op/Internship Admissions Committee. Admission may be granted to:
(a) Lakehead University Engineering students enrolled in Year 2 who have, following the fall term examination period, achieved at least a 70% average in all courses completed in their program of study.
(b) Students who have completed the fall term of Year 3 of their Bachelor of Engineering program with a minimum average of 70%.

All admission decisions will be made by the end of the second week of the winter term preceding the summer work term. In some cases, interviews with the applicants and Engineering Co-op/Internship Admissions Committee may be required before final decisions are made.
