Honours BA (Political Science Major) Pre-Law (TB)

Four Year program

An overall average of 70% in all Political Science courses is required.

Students may not obtain both an HBA (Political Science Major) and an HBA (Political Science Major) Pre-Law from Lakehead University.

Courses will be chosen in consultation with the Department. Students are required to take one half-course in Political Theory from: Political Science 2510, 3515, 3517, 4215, 4513. Students are also required to take one half-course in International Relations from: Political Science 2335, 2611, 2617, 3311, 3313, 3314, 3617, 3619, 4312, 4315, 4615. Students are also required to take one half-course in Comparative Politics from: Political Science 2339, 3311, 3313, 3314, 3319, 3332, 3333, 3334, 3337, 3338, 3339, 3359, 3713, 4255, and 4311.

Students are required to take a one-half FCE Type E Indigenous Content course. This requirement may be taken in any year of study. Political Science 3351 is recommended.

 

First Year:

(b) Two FCEs from Type A courses
(c) Two FCEs from Type B courses

Second Year: 
(a) Political Science 2110
(b) One FCE chosen from Political Science 2311, 2313, 2617
(c) One FCE chosen from Political Science
(d) Two and one-half FCE electives (Sociology 2221, Sociology 2301 recommended)

Third Year:
(a) Two FCEs in Political Science at the third year level
(b) One half FCE chosen from Political Science 3351, Political Science 3113
(c) Two and one-half FCE electives

Fourth Year:
(a) Political Science 4110
(b) Political Science 4150
(c) Two FCEs in Political Science at the fourth year level (Political Science 4217 recommended)
(d) Two FCE electives (Women's Studies 4460 recommended)
