The Department of Sociology offers undergraduate and graduate programs dedicated to enhancing students' knowledge of the societies in which they live, using sociological theories and methods to research important social issues. Graduates gain skills for a broad range of management and research-oriented careers, and we provide solid foundations for post-graduate training in law, medicine, teaching, or other advanced degrees.

We offer Bachelor, Honours Bachelor, and Master of Arts degrees. Sociology honours degrees are available in a double major with Women's Studies and a major concentration in Gerontology. Sociology programs are also offered concurrently with a BEd from the Department of Undergraduate Studies in Education. The honours bachelor degree program is offered at both campuses in Thunder Bay and Orillia.

The following Sociology programs are offered:

Each program is marked with a TB, O or W designation to distinguish where each program is available.
