BSc (General Program)(TB)(O)

Three Year program

The Bachelor of Science (General Program) degree attempts to overcome the restrictions of traditional programs by allowing the student as much latitude as possible in choosing courses. The degree is offered at both the Thunder Bay and Orillia campuses.

Advanced credits for courses taken outside the Faculty of Science and Environmental Studies or Lakehead University must be approved by program advisor (the Dean of Science and Environmental Studies or the Dean's delegate).

The intent is to permit the student to take any fifteen (15) full course equivalents (FCE) with only the following restrictions:

1. A maximum of seven (7) first year or zero level FCEs may be taken.

2. At least two (2) FCEs of Type C courses must be taken at the third year level or above from the Faculty of Science and Environmental Studies for the BSc (General Program) degree.

3. A majority of the fifteen (15) FCEs for the BSc (General Program) degree must be Type C courses taken from the Faculty of Science and Environmental Studies.

4. No more than four (4) FCEs may be taken outside of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Faculty of Science and Environmental Studies.

5. At least one-half (0.5) FCE of Type E courses must be taken to meet the Indigenous Content Requirement.

6. The last five (5) FCEs must be taken while registered in the Bachelor of Science (General Program) except with permission of the Dean or the Dean's delegate.

7. A minimum average of 60% is required in the Type C courses taken from the Faculty of Science and Environmental Studies.
