A survey of principal concepts and methods of fluid dynamics. Topics include a brief review of vectors and tensors, introduction to fluid dynamics, kinematics, microscopic mass and momentum balances, exact solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations, dimensional analysis and similitude, flows with negligible acceleration, high Reynolds number flows, regions far from boundaries (the Boundary Layer Theory), hydrodynamic stability, introduction to turbulence, lift and drag forces, and non-Newtonian fluid behaviour.
