Honours Bachelor of Arts and Sciences (Interdisciplinary Studies Major with Concentration in Human Nature)/Bachelor of Education P/J (O) - Sociology of Violence

Sociology 3116 Sociology of Violence
A critical examination of the relationship between violence and social life. While violence is increasingly normalized, assumed, and taken for granted in today’s society, deeper questions often go unnoticed: Is violence always physical? How does violence affect a person’s sense of self? Can social situations promote or hinder violence? Are humans naturally violent? A wide variety of contemporary topics will be used to explore these issues.
