Kinesiology 4059 Advanced Psychology of Physical Activity
An examination of psychological factors associated with individuals’ experiences within exercise, injury rehabilitation, and sport. Emphasis is placed on topics that can be applied by professionals working within these domains to foster self-awareness and empathy among themselves and enhanced participation, performance, and well-being. To achieve this, the course augments theory and research in physical activity psychology with case study examinations, popular media accounts, and the application of material to students’ personal experiences in exercise, injury rehabilitation, and sport (or similar achievement contexts).
