Subsequent to the publication of the 2004-2005 hard copy Calendar, the following items were approved as addendum items by the Senate of Lakehead University or are corrections to existing information, and now appear in the Web Calendar. Additional changes and updates not mentioned in this Addendum may also appear in the web calendar; therefore, this list is only meant to highlight a number of items. The web calendar should always be consulted for the newest information.

Graduate Studies Regulations







  Regulation Change:
- new regulation: Full-time students who have allowed their registration to lapse for one term and fail to register for the next term will be considered to have left the program. Part-time students who have allowed their registration to lapse for three consecutive terms and fail to register for the next term will be considered to have left the program. Students wishing to complete their program must apply for re-admission. Their allowable time-to-completion will resume from the date of first registration in the program. Students who have reached their time limit in the program at the point of re-admission must complete the program within three consecutive terms.

  Admission Change:
- revise Admission Requirement #2 to proof of current registration or eligibility to register with College of Nurses of Ontario or another jurisdiction in Canada
- new admission standard to waive program requirement of Public Health 5312 for students who have completed the Nurse Practitioner program with four year BScN (non-integrated) and successful completion of Nursing 4900 with 70% average (or equivalents)
Program Change:
- in MPH (Health Studies) Course Option, any or all of the eight half-courses may now be taken from other academic units
Course Change:
- change title of Public Health 5070 to part 1 and add new course 5270 (part 2)
- slight revision in course descriptions of 5070 and 5230
- for 5311, change title, add prerequisite, and delete the word "subsequent" in course description
- change title and add prerequisite to 5312
