Addendum to the 2007-2008 Lakehead University Calendar

 

Subsequent to the preparation of the 2007-2008 hard copy Calendar, the following items were added as addendum items that have been approved by the Senate of Lakehead University or that are corrections to existing information, and now appear in the Web Calendar. Additional changes and updates not mentioned in this Addendum may also appear in the web calendar; therefore, this list is only meant to highlight a number of items. The web calendar should always be consulted for the newest information.

  Corrections:
The end of the Fall/Winter term and Winter term has been adjusted by two days.
Therefore, in the On Campus Academic Schedule 2007-2008 chart:
- The Classes End dates have been changed from April 10 to April 8 for Full Term Courses, Forestry Students Only courses, and Winter Term Courses.
-The Final Date for Course Withdrawal Without Academic Penalty for Full Term Courses has been changed from February 7 to February 11.
-The Examinations dates for Full Term Courses, Forestry Students Only courses, and Winter Term Courses have been changed from April 14-26 to April 11-24.
-The Examination Contingency Date for Full Term Courses, Forestry Students Only courses, and Winter Term Courses has been changed from April 28 to April 25.
-The Marks Due by noon dates for Full Term Courses, Forestry Students Only courses, and Winter Term Courses have been changed from May 1 to April 30.
-The Class Makeup dates are changed from April 9th and 10th to April 7th and 8th for Full Term Courses, Forestry Students Only courses, and Winter Term Courses.
-for On Campus Schedule-Spring Session 2008, change first term half-courses classes end date from May 26 to May 22 and exam dates from May 27-28 to May 23-24

Other Important Dates:

The nine Special Examination dates in Fall Term 2007, (Fall Term 2007) prerequisite to Winter 2008 courses, and the Winter Term, for the Final Date to Apply for Special Exams, Special Examinations, and Marks Due by noon, are being added.
Distributed Learning Academic Schedule 2007-2008:
-Delete the heading "Examination Contingency Date" and split "Examinations" into "Mid-Term Examinations" and "Final Examinations". Add Mid-Term Examination date December 8 for Fall/Winter Session 2007-2008 Full Term Courses.
-Add dates for Full Term Courses, Fall Term Courses, and Winter Term Courses from the On-Campus Academic Schedule 2007-2008. Correct the dates for Final Examinations for Full Term Courses, Fall Term Courses and Winter Term Courses. Correct the dates for Classes End and Marks Due by noon for Full Term Courses and Winter Term Courses. Correct the date for Final Date for Course Withdrawal Without Academic Penalty for Full Term Courses. Add class makeup dates.
NOTE: Final Examinations dates for full-term and winter-term courses have been revised from April 12 back to the previous dates of April 19; therefore, these final exams for Distributed Learning courses will be held on April 19, 2008.

Revisions:

Correction: There is a discrepancy between the hard copy and Web calendars: in the Honours Bachelor of Outdoor Recreation, (a) Specialization in Leadership, Required Leadership Courses, the Web version should match the hard copy version: OUTD 3312, 4371, not OUTD 2210. Also, 4371 should be removed from, and 3410, 3610, 4411, and 4611 should be added to, the Elective Leadership Courses. This change became effective in the 2003-2004 Calendar.
Correction:
In HBOR Leadership Specialization, Web Calendar version only, the requirements should state "Students must successfully complete five [not six] half courses". This change became effective in the 2003-2004 Calendar.
