Faculty of Business Administration - By Application

The Victor F. Belluz Memorial Award
$730 (BFVMI)
Established in 1991 in memory of Victor Francis Belluz by his family, friends, colleagues and fellow alumni of the Faculty of Business Administration. Awarded annually on the basis of scholastic ability to a student in the Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree program and who has expressed an interest in the accounting major. Preference will be given to a student from Northwestern Ontario and this shall be awarded on the recommendation of the Faculty of Business Administration by the Senate Undergraduate Scholarship and Bursary Committee. Ernst and Young Award
$580 (EYABI)
Awarded to a student specializing in accounting who is entering his/her final year of study and intends to pursue the designation of Chartered Accountant. The student must have attended Lakehead University full-time in the two preceding years of study. This award is made on the recommendation of the Scholarship Awards Committee of the Faculty of Business Administration on the basis of academic achievement, community and/or school involvement. Financial need may be a consideration. Application available on the Office of Student Financial Aid and Awards website.

Ernst and Young Award in Business
$160 (PMTAI)
To be awarded to a student entering his/her final year in the Honours Bachelor of Commerce or the Bachelor of Administration programs at Lakehead University who is interested in becoming a Chartered Accountant. The Ernst and Young Award in Business will recognize academic ability and involvement in extracurricular activities. The award is presented on the recommendation of the Scholarship/Awards Committee of the Faculty of Business Administration. Freedom 55 Financial Award (3rd Year)
$1,250 (FF3AI)
Awarded to 3rd-year Faculty of Business Administration students. The recipient will be a well-rounded student who shows a commitment to learning and demonstrated leadership through community involvement or student affairs. The recipient will also have good academic standing. Application available on the Office of Student Financial Aid and Awards website.

Freedom 55 Financial Award (4th Year)
$1,250 (FF4AI)
Awarded to fourth-year Faculty of Business Administration students. The recipient will be a well-rounded student who shows a commitment to learning and demonstrated leadership through community involvement or student affairs. The recipient will also have good academic standing. Application available on the Office of Financial Aid and Awards website.

Hanley Award
$500 (HBMAI)
Established in 1990 by colleagues, alumni and family in memory of "Bill" Hanley, a faculty member for twenty years in the Faculty of Business Administration. Awarded to a "well rounded" business student entering the final year of his/her program who demonstrates academic improvement, and has participated in university and community affairs. Awarded on the recommendation of the Scholarship/Award Committee of the Faculty of Business Administration. Application available on the Office of Student Financial Aid and Awards website.

Human Resources Professionals Association of Northwestern Ontario Award
Two year membership (approximate value $250) (HRNWI)
A two-year membership to the Human Resources Professionals Association of Northwestern Ontario (HRPNO) will be awarded to a student entering the third year of the Bachelor of Administration degree program or entering the third or fourth year of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree program, majoring or specializing in Human Resources or Management/Industrial Relations. Awarded to a student on the basis of a detailed statement concerning interest and career aspirations in human resource management or industrial relations. Awarded on the recommendation of the Faculty of Business Administration. Application available on the Office of Student Financial Aid and Awards website.

The B. H. Lacey Memorial Award
$600 (BHLMI)
Established in 1985 in memory of Associate Professor, B. Harry Lacey, by his family, friends, and colleagues. This award recognizes academic standing and involvement in university or community activities. The B. H. Lacey Memorial Award will be granted upon the recommendation of the Faculty of Business Administration to a student registered in the second year of a Business Degree Program. Application available on the Office of Student Financial Aid and Awards website.

RBC Capital Markets Finance Award
$2,000 (03-RBCAI)
Provided to an academically-strong student in third year, Faculty of Business Administration, with a demonstrated interest in financial markets. The recipient will show leadership qualities through extra-curricular involvement. Financial need will also be considered. The selection will be based on a recommendation from the Faculty. Application available on the Office of Student Financial Aid and Awards website.

The Grant H. Thompson Memorial Award
$1,760 (GTMBI)
Established in 1985 in memory of Grant Hamilton Thompson, F.C.A., by his family and many friends. This award recognizes Mr. Thompson's many years of devoted service to Lakehead University and his profession. The Grant H. Thompson Memorial Award recognizes academic achievement, citizenship, and financial need. It will be awarded annually in perpetuity on the recommendation of the Scholarship/Awards Committee of the Faculty of Business Administration to students specializing in accounting, entering his/her final year, intending to pursue the designation of Chartered Accountant. Faculty of Business Administration - No Application

The John Andrews Commerce Scholarship
$500 (JACSI)
Awarded to a full-time Bachelor of Commerce student of high standing who has completed at least four full courses of the courses required for the first year and is proceeding as a full-time student into the second year of the program.

William H. Buset Scholarship
3 x $740 (BUSSI)
Awarded to one high ranking student registered full-time in Business, Music and Visual Arts.

CMA Award for Excellence in the Study of Strategic Management
5 x $110 (CMAEI)
Awarded on the basis of recommendation by the Faculty of Business Administration to the group of students in the final year of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree Program who have completed the best strategy report.

Eaton Foundation Award in Marketing
$490 (EFAMI)
Awarded by the Eaton Foundation on the recommendation of the Faculty of Business Administration to the student majoring in Marketing receiving the highest standing in the third year of the Bachelor of Commerce program and who demonstrates an interest in retailing.

Eaton Foundation Business Scholarship
$490 (EFBSI)
Awarded by The Eaton Foundation on the recommendation of the Faculty of Business Administration to a Canadian student who has demonstrated outstanding academic ability and is entering the fourth year of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree program.

Faculty of Business Administration Development Fund Award
$250 (SBADI)
Awarded annually to a high ranking student entering the final year of the Bachelor of Administration Degree or the third year of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree program.

David A. Flug Memorial Award
$480 (DFMAI)
Established in 1988 in memory of David A. Flug, a second-year Lakehead University Bachelor of Administration student, by his family and many friends. Awarded to a student in the second year of the Bachelor of Administration Degree program, on the recommendation of the Faculty of Business Administration, to the student who has shown the greatest improvement over the previous year's effort. Financial need may also be considered.

Adam Molai Small Business Consulting Service Award
$450 (AMBCI)
Awarded to a full-time student entering the third or fourth year of a degree program in the Faculty of Business Administration, with a minimum 'B' standing. Preference will be given to a student who demonstrates active involvement in Lakehead University's Small Business Consulting Service and/or the Inter-Collegiate Business Competition. The successful recipient may hold no other University administered scholarship/award. Awarded on the recommendation of the Faculty in liaison with the Small Business Consulting Service and the ICBC Liaison.

Northwestern Ontario Chartered Accountants Association Award
$410 (NOCEI)
Awarded to a full-time student entering the fourth year of the Bachelor of Commerce Degree program who has achieved in the third year the highest aggregate of grades in certain courses as specified by the Chartered Accountant Association.
