Faculty of Engineering -By Application

William Baziuk, Sr. and Bruce Baziuk Engineering Award
$250 (WBBBI)
Awarded on the recommendation of the Scholarship/Awards Committee of the Faculty of Engineering to the highest ranking student entering the 3rd or 4th year of the Bachelor of Engineering Degree program who also displays leadership qualities and community involvement. Financial need may also be considered. Application available on the Office of Student Financial Aid and Awards website.

J.P. Bickell Foundation Mining Award Program
Value varies up to $2,000 (A-JPBMI)
Awarded on the recommendation of the Senate Undergraduate Scholarships and Bursaries Committee, to a 2nd, 3rd or 4th year student registered in: B Sc or HBSc Geology; B Sc Earth Science; HBESc Environmental Studies with Earth Science; Chemical Engineering; Civil Engineering; Mechanical Engineering. Students must be enrolled in one the afore-mentioned disciplines, with a minimum 70% average in the previous year and must demonstrate an interest in the mining industry. The successful recipient will submit a written summary indicating their areas of interest which may include; operational, environmental and geological issues or concerns. Ontario Professional Engineers Foundation for Education In-course Scholarship
$1,000 (A-OPEII)
Awarded by the Ontario Professional Engineers Foundation for Education, on the recommendation of the University's Faculty Council; awarded to an undergraduate student who has exhibited exceptional role model qualities through participation in the non-academic activities while maintaining above average marks. Application available on the Office of Student Financial Aid and Awards website.

Michael J. Pupeza Memorial Scholarship
$2,080 (02-MJPSI)
Created in 2005, in loving memory of Michael J. Pupeza, an industrial engineer, by his wife Mae. Provided to a student in the Faculty of Engineering with first class standing. Financial need may also be considered. Application available on the Office of Student Financial Aid and Awards website.

Shell Canada Limited Engineering Scholarship
$520 (SCPEI)
Awarded to a student entering the third year of the Bachelor of Engineering degree program with at least first class standing. Community involvement and participation in student affairs may also be considered. Application available on the Office of Student Financial Aid and Awards website.

 

Faculty of Engineering -No Application

The John Andrews Engineering Scholarship
$500 (JAESI)
Awarded to a full-time student of high standing entering the third or fourth year of the Engineering Degree Program.

The Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering Student Award
(A-CSCEI)
Awarded to the highest ranking student entering the final year of the Bachelor of Chemical Engineering Degree program. The award also includes a medal, a certificate, and a two-year subscription to the Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering.

VB Cook Limited Consulting Engineers Lakehead University 30th Anniversary Award
$260 (CVBAI)
Awarded to an Engineering student, who has served as an executive member of the Lakehead University Engineering Students' Society or one of the student branches of the Technical Societies, on the basis of academic performance and contributions to Engineering student activities. This award will be made on the recommendation of the Faculty of Engineering by the Senate Undergraduate Scholarships and Bursaries Committee.

Murray Fleming Engineering Scholarship
$800 (MFESI)
Awarded on the basis of academic excellence and attitude to professional studies to a student entering the final year of the Bachelor of Engineering Degree program.

Murray Fleming Memorial Silver Jubilee Scholarship
$640 (SJMFI)
Established in memory of Murray Fleming by his family in recognition of his interest in Lakehead University. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence and attitude to professional studies to a student who has completed the first term of the third year of the Bachelor of Engineering degree program. Financial need may also be considered.

Ontario Professional Engineers Foundation for Education In-course Scholarship
$1,000 (A-OPEII)
Awarded by the Ontario Professional Engineers Foundation for Education, on the recommendation of the University's Faculty Council; awarded to an undergraduate student of an engineering program who obtained the highest standing in the work of his/her respective year.
