Collection Notice

Lakehead University (hereinafter the "University") collects, uses, discloses, retains, and secures personal information under the authority of the Act Respecting Lakehead University (Statutes of Ontario, 1965, chapter 54) and in compliance with the laws of Ontario and Canada, including, but not limited to, the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (RSO 1990, c. F.31).  In particular, the University collects, uses, and discloses personal information as necessary for planning concerning, and administration and operation of, the University's programs and services, for institutional research and other research to the extent that the law permits, for students' recruitment, admission, registration, program progression, and graduation, for payment of fees, for financial assistance and awards, and for disclosures to the Governments of Ontario and Canada and their agencies to the extent mandated by law.  In addition students' personal information may be disclosed to the Lakehead University Student Union and the Alumni Association of Lakehead University to the degree necessary for their essential operations. Also, personal information in relation to program enrolment, graduation, and awards may be made public.
