Honours Bachelor of Arts (French Major)/Bachelor of Education P/J (TB)

Six Year program
The minimum requirement is 70% in French 1200 or French 1204 and in French 2201 and an overall average of at least 70% in French courses taken in each subsequent year. An overall minimum 60% average in all courses is also required. It is recommended that students take a minor in another language.

Prior to Entry into the 2-Year Professional Program
In concurrent Education programs at the Primary/Junior level, students must meet and complete requirements of the partnering Honours degree program including all Pre-Professional Program Education requirements prior to entry into the Professional Program. The student's selection of courses requires the consent of the Chair of the Department of Languages.

First Year:
(a) French 1510 and 1511
(b) French 1200 or 1204
(c) One FCE from Type A courses, excluding courses from the Department of Languages
(d) One FCE from Type B courses
(e) One-half FCE in Music or Visual Arts
(f) Education 1050

Second Year:
(a) French 2201
(b) Two FCEs in French at the second year level
(c) One FCE in Science (General Science 1000 recommended) (see Concurrent Education, Content Regulations #1, regarding eligible Science electives)
(d) One-half FCE elective chosen in consultation with the Department of Languages
(e) Education 2050

Third Year:
(a) Three FCEs from third and fourth year French Honours courses (French 3201 recommended)
(b) One-half FCE chosen from Type E English courses (English 2510, 2717, 3750, 3751) or French 3650
(c) One FCE electives
(d) One-half FCE elective in Education (see Electives in the Department of Undergraduate Studies in Education Courses list)
Note: Concurrent Education students should check the timetable for Pre-Professional Program course offerings.

Fourth Year:
(a) Three FCEs from third and fourth year French Honours courses not previously taken
(b) Two additional FCEs selected in consultation with the Chair of the Department

Fifth and Sixth Years (2-Year Professional Program):
Concurrent Education (Primary/Junior) requirements

Note: The Indigenous Content Requirement is met by taking either one-half FCE from Type E English courses or French 3650.
