Honours Bachelor of Arts (Specialized Honours in Psychology Major with Concentration in Women's Studies) (TB)

Four Year program

This degree program requires an overall 80% average in Psychology courses. Should this not be attained, students must consult with the Chair of the Department of Psychology. In addition, an overall average of at least 70% must be maintained in the Women’s Studies courses.

Students in other Psychology programs seeking to enter the Honours BA (Specialized Honours in Psychology) with Concentration in Women’s Studies program must obtain an overall 80% average in the Psychology courses and an overall 70% average in the Women’s Studies courses of the preceding years and must consult with the Chairs of the Departments of Psychology and Women's Studies as additional courses may be required.

First Year:

(a) Psychology 1100
(b) Women's Studies 1100
(c) One FCE from Type A courses
(d) One FCE from Type A courses (if Women's Studies 1100 counted as Type B) or one FCE from Type B courses (if Women's Studies 1100 counted as Type A)
(e) One-half FCE Type E course
(f) One-half FCE elective. A first year Type C or D course is recommended

Students must apply into Psychology 4901 Honours Thesis by November of the year before their thesis year. Students not accepted into Psychology 4901 must enter the HBA (Psychology) Four Year degree. See Department of Psychology website for more information.

It is recommended that students intending to pursue graduate studies in Psychology complete at least 2.0 FCEs of the following listed courses among their required and elective Psychology courses in their third or fourth year:

Note: The Indigenous Content Requirement is met by the inclusion of one-half FCE chosen from the list of Type E courses.
