Honours Bachelor of Arts and Sciences (Criminology Major) (O)

Four Year program

An overall 70% average in the Criminology Major (this includes any Criminology courses taken by the student) through each year is required.

Note: 
By the end of four years (20 FCEs), at least three (3) FCEs must be Type A (Humanities) or Type B (Social Sciences) courses; at least three (3) FCEs must be Type C (Engineering, Mathematical and Natural Sciences) or Type D (Health and Behavioural Sciences) courses; and at least one-half (0.5) FCE must be Type E courses. The Indigenous Content Requirement is being met by the inclusion of one-half (0.5) FCE chosen from the list of Type E courses taken as an elective in any year of the program, although Criminology 3510 or Political Science 3351 are particularly recommended.

First Year:
(a) One-half FCE in first year Interdisciplinary Studies
(b) Criminology 1010 and 1030
(c) One of: Political Science 1100, Political Science 1301, Psychology 1100, or Sociology 1100
(d) Two and one-half FCE electives  (Note the Type A, B, C, D, and E courses requirement.)

Second Year:
(a) One FCE in Criminology at the second year level 
(b) One FCE chosen from Psychology, Sociology, or Political Science courses at the second year level
(c) Criminology 2015
(d) Criminology 2090
(e) Two FCE electives  (Note the Type A, B, C, D, and E courses requirement.)

Third Year:
(a) Two FCEs chosen from: Criminology courses at the third year level; Political Science 3314; Sociology 3811
(b) One-half FCE in third year Interdisciplinary Studies
(c) Two and one-half FCE electives at the second year level or above (Note the Type A, B, C, D, and E courses requirement.  Criminology 3510 or Political Science 3351 are recommended.)

Fourth Year:
(a) One FCE chosen from: Criminology courses at the fourth year level; Sociology 4250
(b) One FCE in Criminology at the fourth year level or Criminology 4801 or Interdisciplinary Studies 4901
(c) Criminology 4035 Field Exposure
(d) Two and one-half FCE electives at the third or fourth year level

Four-year Non-Direct Entry program option

Bachelor of Arts and Sciences (Criminology Major) 4-year

This program option is for Honours students that are academically ineligible to continue in or complete the Honours program.

The program requirements are the same as for the Honours Bachelor of Arts and Sciences (Criminology Major) degree and the Honours Bachelor of Arts and Sciences (Criminology Major) - Transfer - College Pathways degree, except that to successfully complete the four-year bachelor's degree students are required to achieve a 60% (C) average.
