Women's Studies Courses Important Information

Women’s Studies Course Categories

Students should check the “Notes” section of course descriptions to find the designation of course category (or categories) for each Women’s Studies course. Each course can only be used to fulfill one course category requirement. The Women's Studies program descriptions in the Calendar show the number of FCEs and the groups required at each year level.

 

Course Category Definitions

Core Courses:
are administered and taught by the Women’s Studies Department.

Group 1 Courses:
are cross-listed courses from other Departments that focus closely on Women’s Studies-related themes, theories and methods. Core Courses can also count as Group 1 if you take more than the minimum number of Core Courses required.

Group 2 Courses:
are cross-listed from other Departments and incorporate some women’s studies themes, theories and methods.
