Investigation of a topic using a multidisciplinary approach in a small group setting as an introduction to scholarship at the university level. The focus of each First Year Seminar course will vary. Topics will be studied using a variety of learning methods. The development of academic knowledge and skills, such as the use of library resources and research materials, writing a learned paper, and giving an oral presentation, will be fostered. Students will be exposed to the different scientific fields and careers in science and the seminars will provide exposure to the options within the Lakehead Science One program.
