As an introduction to what is required to succeed in graduate school, students develop a scholarly identity and disposition. Engaging in various topics and issues in education, students examine scholarship to gain knowledge about various perspectives, build essential scholarly skills as a foundation for other courses and for a portfolio or thesis, gain insight on academic culture, and clarify expectations of scholarly writing and presenting.
