A critical study of French written works from Northern Ontario: including, letters, tales, songs, poetry, novels. The writings will be studied as a reflection of the lifestyle of the Northern Ontario inhabitants, their struggles as a minority in this part of the province, and therefore the building process of their Ontario French identity.

For admission to 3rd and 4th year level courses, students must have completed French 2201 and one FCE in French at the 2nd year level, with a minimum mark of 60% in French 2201 and a minimum overall average of 60% in the French courses.
