History 3111 The Balkans
An introduction to key events and forces that shaped the Balkan region during the modern era. Particular attention will be given to questions of nationalism, revolution, genocide, post-colonial politics, and social justice movements in Austria-Hungary, Albania, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Turkey and the former Yugoslavia.

Notes: Students who have previous credit at the third year level in a course with the same title may not take History 3111 for credit.
