A survey of several major taxonomic and pathological groups of forest fungi found in the Division Basidiomycota. The structure, classification, and biology of these major groups will be discussed in detail and their importance to forest health will be emphasized. Laboratory exercises are designed to give students expertise in isolation, cultivation, and identification of these disease causing agents and also provide hands on experience with inoculation of living plant material.
